Hi Sam,
I have been on the Television series City Confidential quite a few times,
(the episode involving the Rolf Neslund Murder case on Lopez Island. I also
was on COPs a few times, it was filmed in San Juan County. The Ann Rule
book "NO REGRETS" is all about the Neslund Murder case and it is very
accurate although a lot of stuff was not included. I have had quite a
experience over the years in my career with the Sheriff's Department and I
was at one time considering writing a book of short Funny Stories I was
involved in but it went by the wayside.
I would very much like to establish a web-site like yours. There used to be
a High School class project that involved the students in assisting people
with designing web-sites but they no longer do it. I really get confused
when it comes to computer stuff and I'm going crazy trying to figure out my
Zuney.
How about some photos of you and yours on your web-site!
I have in fact communicated with a couple people via your web-site
information. I seem to have more spare time then most people when it comes
to spending time doing e-mail but I find it amazing.
Enough for now,
Take care,
Pooter joe

I missed the last Class Reunion and it would have been great to meet up
with the old gang.
I 'm going to be 64 on February 1st and I'm still alive and reasonably
in good health although I understand I'm deceased according to the
Information CD put out by the Reunion Committee. It was my brother Ron
that died a few years back. I retired from the San Juan County
Sheriff's Department after 28 years in Law Enforcement and I absolutely
loved my job but I'm so glad to be away from it. I during my career
Analyzed Drugs, was in charge of Courthouse and Courtroom Security, ran
the Commercial Vehicle Weight Control program, was the Evidence
Custodian, Recognized as a Marijuana/Drug Expert Witness and was quite
involved in teaching officers how to testify in Court. I was the
Department Firearms Instructor for over 15 years. I had a few Arrests
that were dealt with by the Supreme Court. (The Courts did find me to be
justified in my arrest actions) I was on Cops a couple times and was
also on a City Confidential documentary dealing with the Rolf Neslund
murder case when I lived and worked on Lopez Island for nine years
before moving to San Juan Island.
Ann Rule's latest Book "NO REGRETS" is out and it makes for some
interesting reading as to my involvement in the Rolf Neslund murder
case.
I'm keeping busy these days taking care of my five acres and keeping it
maintained like a park. We have Mickey & Mocha Two large Standard
Poodles and Bea a Golden Retriever and Lilly the Cat. These guys are
something else. I didn't get married until I was 59 years old and
Barbara will retire from the County in about a year.
My cousin Ray Kern and his wife Rosie live in Wenatchee Washington and I
visit with them frequently. Ray was a 62 Graduate also.
I'm a Harley Davidson freak and I have a 2005 Sportster with every
optional accessory available installed. I want a new Harley Dyna Custom
Low Rider but can't get rid of the Sportster because I have so much
money invested in the accessories added on. I have a large Cowboy Gun
Collection and have been trying to sell it for years but can't find a
buyer willing to buy the whole collection that I don't want to split up.
I've had beautiful Gibson Guitars for years but have never learned to
play them but they are part of my TV Room Decorum. I like computers and
really enjoy Digital photography, I'm trying to put a Harley Motorcycle
video with radical exhaust/muffler sound bites but haven't quite figured
thing out yet. I recently purchased a Zuney which is an I-Pod type
recording device. I have to find a 10 year old kid that can teach me how
to operate its many features.
I have attached a few photos.
Well that's enough Caputo Trivia for now. I'd enjoy hearing from
anyone.
Take Care,
Joe "Pooter" Caputo
